Nope. Think cartoon. I'll add another piece of trivia:Quoth El Pollo Guerrera View Post"The Greatest American Hero"? The main character's name was changed from Ralph Hinkley to Ralph Hanley during the first season because of the shooting of US President Reagan by John Hinckley Jr.
-this show had a crossover with another show in it's fourth season. The crossover was based off of the fact that the lead character in each is voiced by the same actor and sound virtually the same. The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom

They had to remove any reference to ISIS (international secret intelligence service in archer land) in the current season for obvious reasons. They did a crossover where archer had amnesia and was "bob" from bobs burgers.
Also fun fact: lanas voice actor is in weird al yankovics "tacky" video. (She's the first one after weird al stops dancing)The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom

A number of characters from the original Star Trek made guest appearances on Star Trek The Next Generation. One regular character from the original series would not have been able to make a guest appearance, even though the character was alive as of the last episode of the original series, and the actor/actress was alive and working at the time the Next Generation was being filmed (won't say here whether they're still alive or not, since that would help isolate the character). Which character, and why couldn't they make a guest appearance on the Next Generation?Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

Kirk never appeared in STTNG because he disappeared in the movie STTNG: Generations before the time of the TV show, and died in the movie.
Other than that, I have no idea why any of them did not appear in the STTNG TV show."I don't have to be petty. The Universe does that for me."

Also, Majel Barrett was a recurring character (Nurse Chapel) in the original series, but was a different character in TNG (Troi's mother)... and the voice of the ship's computer."Kamala the Ugandan Giant" 1950-2020 • "Bullet" Bob Armstrong 1939-2020 • "Road Warrior Animal" 1960-2020 • "Zeus" Tiny Lister Jr. 1958-2020 • "Hacksaw" Butch Reed 1954-2021 • "New Jack" Jerome Young 1963-2021 • "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff 1949-2021 • "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton 1958-2021 • Daffney 1975-2021

Bing, Bing, Bing! We have a winner. Not even the Enterprise D's tractor beams would be enough to have 2 completely unrelated characters played by the same actress.Quoth El Pollo Guerrera View PostAlso, Majel Barrett was a recurring character (Nurse Chapel) in the original series, but was a different character in TNG (Troi's mother)... and the voice of the ship's computer.
Note that I said "would not have been able to", rather than "didn't". As for Kirk, since he died in a canonical work set before the beginning of STTNG, I would consider that not meeting the eligibility criterion of "character alive at the end of the original series".Quoth Ironclad Alibi View PostOf the regulars in the original Star Trek TV show, William Shatner (Kirk), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), George Takei (Sulu), and Walter Koenig (Chekov) never appeared in Star Trek the Next Generation TV show.

Consider this: STTNG ended in May 1994. Generations aired in November 1994. So technically, in May 1994, Kirk was still alive as his disappearance and death did not happen until 6 months after the series ended.Quoth wolfie View PostNote that I said "would not have been able to", rather than "didn't". This show originally started as a radio show and took every step to make things as authentic as it could, compared to the place that was being depicted on the show. This even extended down to ensuring that the phone number extensions were accurate (despite the phone not being anywhere NEAR the camera) and even that the number of steps from one location to another were exactly the same number of steps that it would take to walk from one place to another in the show's real-life counterpart.
It spawned 3 TV series while the star actor was alive and 2 after his death. When the star actor/producer died in 1982, he was given full honours which was a rarity for someone who did not normally work in this line of work and a certain ID number was retired.Last edited by fireheart; 03-22-2015, 09:00 PM.The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom
