I do hope the other guy (Dom?) gets a handle on his nerves enough to do a promo right.
Me too. I really like Dom. And the Cajun teddy bear whose name I'm drawing a blank on.

I just hope that they don't do the 'Keep him around to be the season's villain' thing with Douchebro. Because they did that with the super-bland supermodel a couple seasons ago and it was awful. :/

Yeah, if Dom can get his nerves in check, he may do OK.

The big Cajun guy seems to be doing well so far. Cajun might be an interesting POV (notice this year that they're calling it a "culinary identity"). Of course, it is only one episode.

They could keep Douchebro around. I think he's too cocky and arrogant, though, and I thought his video presentation was very scattered and disjointed from any type of food.

He did hit upon somewhat of a "trend" that I think is a little annoying. Taking pictures of, and "hashtagging" food, and posting it on social media.

Bland Supermodel? Are you talking about Danushka??

The one that cracked me up was the thin, perky brunette with the big brown eyes, and when AB asked her a question, she said "It's good for your motility!!" I think her name was Katie, or something.

Side Note: Has anyone else noticed that the "judges table" looks a little bit like a big vagina??

        So long, Smirky McDoucheboy...

I think that smirk did him in. I think Bobby had voted for him, and Giada and Alex had the majority, but when Giada saw that smirk, she asked if she could change her mind, and Bobby said something about Smirky being "too immature", that's what did him in. Giada changed her mind, and so long Smirky McDoucheboy.

*cackle* That was brilliant. Also, I have a feeling that the only place we're going to 'see him again' is in prison after he flips his shit and stabs someone in the spleen with a toasting fork. Dude is 8 kinds of scary.

Really didn't expect that to happen. Some people have unerring accuracy when shooting themselves in the foot.

I'm sure he'll turn up again as a contestant on "Chopped" or the like in a few months.

My heavens, he called chef Alex Guarnaschelli "a beast"... but he meant it in a good way? Perfect example of "brain filter malfunction".

I didn't expect it either. I thought they would do the 'this person is a talentless assbag, but they're good for the drama' thing.

I'm betting on Sita going home next. Everything she's done so far seems a bit too simplistic...and she keeps screwing it up. Part of me kinda wonders how she even got past the auditions.

I rewound it and watched it again, and laughed my ass off watching him do himself in. As I'd seen him previously on both of his appearances on Cutthroat Kitchen, I already knew I couldn't stand the little bastard.

Giada's reaction was utterly classic! I've never seen anything like that, and I've been watching that show since its second season. It is, I believe, the only show that my mother and I both watch, so it's fun to compares notes with Mom from time to time. She was as happy to see the little smarmy idiot leave as I was, though she did say that she didn't really like anyone this season. Me, I say it's Jay's show to lose. He's the clear frontrunner. Mom thinks the former football player (Eddie?) is strong as well.

The one I thought of when I watched it was #goodriddanceyoulittleassbag

Jay has potential, I think, if he can find the balance between 'used car salesman' and 'dude who likes to tell stories'. Emilia, though, just is not interesting to me, food-wise or personality. Neither are Sita or the wanna-be sandwich guy. Overall, I think my favorites are Rue, Dom, Michelle, and Arnold.

I wonder if Matthew's going to watch his TV appearances in, oh, about five years and be as appalled by what a smug little brat he is as the rest of us are now.

Think he'll ever grow up that far?

How ironic that this week's first challenge was related to social media, and taking photos of food. It would have been right up Matthew's alley. But don't take my word for it--he would have told you so himself.

I missed the opening of this week's show... was there any footage of Matthew leaving? No goodbyes with the rest of the contestants? Did he just storm out without saying anything?

I wonder if they're saving that footage (if any) for a reunion show... or a blooper reel...

Also, sometimes they bring back former contestants as helpers in later challenges... will we see him again?

I didn't see this week's episode, though I did take a peek at the FN website, so I know who went home.

I was too engrossed in watching Battlebots...
