As far as I'm concerned, the Doctor is WAAAAAAAAAAAY cooler than any superhero. He has saved uncounted civilizations, too many planets to count, and even the universe itself.

And he does it all without wearing tights, fer chrissake.

Oh, sure, NOW he does. When I watched the original series as a kid (yes, I am that old) he wore tights. So did Superman. And most of the other superheroes. The outfits are much more practical now.

There's a reason my personal name for the Spiderman theater production was "Spiderman: Hurray for Spandex."
