  • Homemade Play-Doh craft help

I'm planning on a homemade Play-Doh craft for Little Ara, and I remember a recipe I used in school that used only flour, water, and salt, plus food coloring if we wanted. Now, this craft is going to need to harden, either by air drying or baking, and I don't need an excessive amount of the Play-Doh. I can't find a recipe that meets these three standards:

-Includes only flour, water, salt, and optionally food coloring
-Makes a ball about the size of my fist
-Air dries quickly OR can be baked

I've found some that met the first two but left hardening time and method ambiguous, and I've found some that can be baked or air dry but require extra ingredients or make too much. Does anyone happen to have a good recipe I can use?

Here's a recipe that's "no bake". It only uses a cup of flour, so you won't really be making much of it.

I'm guessing leaving it out in the open for a few hours would cause it to dry out. At least that's my experience. I do believe it'll simply air dry.

Google 'salt dough' and you should get exactly what you're looking for. It can be baked or will harden if left out overnight. If you have cookie cutters it's fun to make shapes to paint.
