  • Please take my money

Man, this is a strange problem to have.

The local French bakery makes the Best. Shit. Ever. Seriously. The people running it are actually from France and it is AMAZING. Yet, I question their continued existence if they can't get their act together.

Last time I ordered from them, they took my deposit just fine. When I picked up the cake I'd ordered the lady giving it to me, one of the owners I believe, said they would just bill my credit card on file. A week later, still no charge. I finally called them and said, hey, d'you want to take my money? And finally they charged me. This time,I've ordered 200 dollars worth of stuff for my housewarming/Halloween party. I gave them my credit card for a down payment. They still haven't taken it out. x_x Sigh... I'm going to call them to make sure my order is in and also to remind them to TAKE MY MONEY!

Really, what is the problem here?

As much as it surprises me, it really shouldn't. Just because you're good at what you do doesn't mean you have a clue how to run a business. I think that's why more small businesses fail rather than from having a poor product or service...

We used to have a vet that was fantasic. He knew his stuff, was very friendly and personable, and reasonable rates. My wife even worked for him as an office manager for a number of years. His ability to make it a functioning, business? Non-existent. If the clinic relied on him to handle the actual business side, he'd never have gotten paid for his services. My wife and I may have hated his wife with a passion, but at least she had enough of a clue to bill the clients...
