  • Finally feel comfortable enough to talk about this

I've mentioned in past threads that my 19-year-old cat, Chloe, had been dealing with several health issues (arthritis, blindness, possible early-stage dementia). Over the past few weeks, her health had declined even further because of a kidney stone, to the point where she was barely eating anything and what she did eat usually came back up a few seconds later.

This past Friday, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It was a very painful decision, but seeing her in the pain she was in hurt even more.

It hurts to lose a beloved furry friend, but you did the right thing for her. And nineteen years is a very long life for a cat; you must've taken excellent care of her. Remember the good times, how much you loved her and know she loved you just as much.

ElderlyCat is still in my thoughts, and important to me. But I know that she's now hiding in the violets, hunting 'unsuspecting ankles', playing her favourite game.

May Chloe and Seph (ElderlyCat) keep each other company, teaching each other their favourite games, until one day we join them and they see their favourite humans again.

        1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
        2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
        3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
        4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

I am in the same boat with my dog. It is only a matter of time.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

*HUGS* I'm so sorry, Firecat. I've been there, too, and it's never easy.

I'm so sorry! Never an easy decision, but she'll always be in your heart.

                  Sorry to hear that.
