Well, I have actually met a few CS'ers, as well as having them as FB friends, so I have an advantage. Also, I still remember a few from the old photo album.

To clear up what was mentioned about the album, it wasn't actually ''outed'' by anyone that I recall. (I may be wrong on that, but I just don't remember it.)
As fara as I do remember, it was more a matter of finding a hosting server. One of our long ago members, gingerbread man, used to host it on his own server, but it ran into a few problems, so it became inactive.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

About the only poster I have a clear mental image of is Argabarga. For some reason, I imagine him as a short, stocky man with tan skin and dark hair. Oh, and an orange Hawaiian shirt.

The Hawaiian shirt part is mentioned in some of his posts, but I don't know where the rest came from.

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

So we are curl twins because that is me in the picture (3 years ago).
Yep lol. I do like my curls but they're impossible to do anything with during cold or wet weather (if they get wet or even just slightly damp they unwind just enough to look like bed head ). So usually I just go with a braid or bun (or braided bun). Any suggestions of hair styles?

Dreamweaver Braiding used to be my go-to for braiding instructions. Unfortunately, the domain seems to be not there today, so I've linked to one of the web-archiving sites.

Another solution to messy-hair is to distract from it with a hair ornament, or to conceal it with a scarf or hat. Braid or chignon or bun the hair up, whether in a neat or messy updo, and decorate with a nice distracting ornament. Or do the same with a ponytail.
Or have a nice scarf and conceal, conceal, conceal.

I'll tell you right now, you're the closest to reality of all the people who've apparently come along after the one or two pictures I've posted of myself faded into the mists of time.

I'm even wearing my orange Hawaiian shirt around the house today... freaky.

Roller sets! And scarves outside! Finger waves! Ha--I get excited about vintage style. For damp sets overnight I use sponge curlers, but instead of the plastic bits they are used like rag rollers. I put each sponge inside a knee-high stocking. Wet sets last a couple of days if you protect them, especially if you use hair spray after the brush-out.

I do like buns also. I used to use hair sticks before I started vintage styling, but now I use pins. I do an L-infinity, lazy wrap, or nautilus bun. All those have tutorials on youtube.

I have an album somewhere. I have to go back down to work, but PM me so I remember to find the pics. I have a cool low braided style, too. I can give you instructions when I have time. I'd be happy to make a picture tutorial.

Victory curls (1940s, 1950s) are actually surprisingly easy. Wrap hair around finger, fix in place with bobby pins.

I found I liked three sorts of hair tools as my go-to tools, when I wore long hair. Bobby pins, hairpins (the sort that inspire the term 'hairpin turn', or are used as McGyver lockpicks in TV), and hair sticks. In fact, I would use pencils, or chopsticks, or anthing of the right shape for hair sticks.
(Not that I used hair-stick chopsticks as cutlery-chopsticks. If I found a set of chopsticks with adorable art near the handle end, I'd buy them just for hairstick use.)

I went to Sally tonight and got these: http://www.sallybeauty.com/Jumbo-Hai...efault,pd.html They work better for thick hair than anything else I have tried. They do take getting used to because I'm not accustomed to pinching the pin before inserting. With the other ones you open them first.

Thanks for the help everyone. I can't use anything for curl other than a large-barrelled curling iron (and that's more for wrestling my natural texture into larger rings) lest I look like Hermione. Oh well. And Arga, there's a pic of you sitting on a TV on your public FB page.

I hope she wasn't referring to me. The closest I have been to normal was the four year I lived there attending collage.
IIRC, that would have been about Jester.

I have the same unfair advantage... but even before adding Ree on facebook, I pictured her as being like Ms. Wingo, the teacher in Doug (the good version, not the junk they put on ABC).

LMO Pretty close now that I no longer colour my hair. But the 80 lb weight loss changed it up a bit.
