  • I've Found It!!!

Seriously, I've been looking for this half my life!

When I was a girl, I got a gift of a box of stationary. In it were beautiful, black and white orchids... basically stencils. They were PERFECT to color and turn into works of art. For a while, I had the most gorgeous stationary on the planet.

Then I ran out. No more colored orchids. I found much nice stationary but none I could actually color and make into my own. For many years, I often checked the stationary section of the bookstore and every time, left disappointed.

Now I just found out about adult coloring books! I had no idea these things even EXISTED! I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow to get some! Hopefully they'll be as beautiful as I think... oh, I can't wait!

The coloring books they have now for adults are amazing. I'm partial to the ones that Dover Publications puts out. They're super cheap on Amazon too. Only 4 or 5 bucks each.

I have had a lot of my classmates tell me that rediscovering coloring helps them concentrate in class and it is a great stress release.

        Dover is wonderful, isn't it?

What I am looking for is a roll of gift wrap that has pictures of presents and the word "gift" all over it. Mainly to give presents to my German buddy

I've seen a few of these. The pages you're supposed to color look rather intricate. Are you supposed to use regular crayons, or are there special ones you're supposed to use?

Well, there's the one they show on TV that comes with pencils. I've seen lots at Walmart and they're around 5 bucks. The adult ones look too intricate for me and I'm happy to stick with kids coloring books. Though when I was a kid I had a coloring book that was similar to what's out now. Never knew I was that far ahead of the curve!
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

Whatever you want to use or have available, really. For mine, I have a jumbo collection of Prismacolor colored pencils.

If you'd like, I could make up a stationery page with outlined orchids that you could have printed up at a service store.

I picked those up specifically for my coloring book. I picked this one up at Michael's: http://www.amazon.com/Enchanted-Fore.../dp/1780674880

Pencil crayons. I'm going to get a set of those as soon as I print off a coupon for Michael's.

depends, I have a ton of the dover ones, most are printed on vellum, so it has a "stained glass" effect, my favorite is Frank Lloyd Wright window designs. I've used both regular crayons and colored pencils.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes
