This was the most visited vile vicious evil and offensive superhero film I've ever seen. 10 outta 10.

But... it isn't a superhero film! He says it himself, several times. He is NOT a hero. He doesn't wanna be a hero. Try to tell him "You're my hero" and he'll tell you no.

Also demonstrated, more or less, in LEGO Marvel Superheroes, where his attack combos finish off with him taking HUD elements (like the icon that lets you know about quests and the like) and hitting people with them.

Same basic idea in MVC3 ^_^ Most of his quips/taunts/pre- and post-match quotes are along the same lines. At least one has him talking directly to the makers of the game, and another, to the player.

I read through Cable and Deadpool back in... I think it was 2010. There was a rumor going around the Deadpool fan sites that a film was in the works, with Ryan Reynolds doing a better version of his character from X-Men Orgins.

It's the first time I've seen an internet rumor turn out to be true.

And it's so good! What seemed to be a lovely daydream, and it's real! So happy...

Finally got to see Deadpool, first attempt (which would have been valentines day) was called off due to me and my partner both coming down with chest infections

But it was totally worth the wait! Really enjoyed it and all the 4th and 16th wall breaking

The second I saw the opening credits, I thought, "We're gonna be fine."

And I was right. Totally worth it.

Okay so maybe a U.S. Peep can answer this in the UK Deadpool is rated a 15 and as per the BBFC - No-one under 15 is allowed to see a 15 film at the cinema or buy/rent a 15 rated video. 15 rated works are not suitable for children under 15 years of age.

So why are little kids in an R rated film in the U.S.?

North American film ratings are not legally required to be enforced, they're voluntary with a less than stellar track record. Whereas in other countries there is a legal enforcement on ratings (up here in Canada it varies by province), in the U.S. any enforcement is up to the theater or theater chain. To add the R rating in the U.S. is not the same as in other countries. For example it is the equivalent of 18A here in Canada but only for the age of 17, aka adult or accompanied by an adult. Your 15 rating is absolutely no one under the age restriction and is enforced by law by comparison.

For a film like Deadpool with it not in the "adults only" range (which was the relatively recent addition of the NC-17 rating), the voluntary enforcement of it, the outright terrible track record of said enforcement, and the popularity of the film has pretty much ended up with the result of young teenagers and even younger to be allowed in unsupervised.

Off by a year. It's 17, but a large number of theaters just waive it away to avoid hassle.

There's also the detail where those NC-17 (which actually means No Children under 17) movies aren't going to get shown in most theaters or advertised to the widest audience. So a lot of film companies will edit their movie down until it gets an R rating from the MPAA so they can actually try to reach as many people as possible.

Spent the day going to movies ("Triple 9" and "Hail, Caesar!") and still had some time to kill after seeing those, so I saw Deadpool again.

Theater was still pretty dang full.

As I was leaving, I heard some tweenagers chatting and one of them said "Deadpool's my new favorite superhero."

I turned around said, "No, he's not a hero!"

Tween thought for a moment and said, "Deadpool's my new favorite vigilante."

I nodded. "That's better."

I finally saw Deadpool last night. As I posted on FB, it's my new favorite (non)superhero movie.

I saw it yesterday evening. (About 11 hours ago, actually!) Finally. Got together with a couple of buddies, one of whom had seen it already, and enjoyed the heck out of it!

I am not much of a comics/superhero fan. I'm aware of the ones that have made it into pop culture, and I have some exposure to the various continua through friends who are collectors, but it's never really been my thing. I laughed my ass off--definitely would not recommend the movie to anyone with breathing problems!! Or who is offended by movie sex of quite a few different kinds. (I was terribly pleased to see all of Morena Baccarin, myself; she is even nicer to look at than I would have guessed from Firefly!)

I wish the theater folks luck cleaning up all of the shattered pieces of the fourth wall. I liked the "Hey, breaking the fourth wall while breaking the fourth wall, here--that's like, sixteen walls!"

And spelling things out was very funny.

The worst part, to me, was the way that Morena was more or less unhurt by a particular fall. It kind of broke the suspension of disbelief for me. But I was able to get my head back into enjoying the movie after that, so it wasn't too bad.
