It sounds like (s)he had many years with someone who loved him/her. That's a pretty good life, all in all. Just remember that your kitty knew he/she was loved. Seems to make it hurt a little less.
Losing fur-kids always hurts. But it's still worth having them in our lives, even if we do have to lose them eventually.
