Oh yeah, Depp is a good musician. He filled in for Elvis Costello playing guitar on the New Basement Tapes version of Kansas City. The video explains what the tapes were (basically a bunch of old Bob Dylan tapes found and artists like Elvis Costello and Marcus Mumford turned the lyrics into songs.)
