Alas, it was not eggplant. And to be honest, I don't really like sweets with the exception of chocolate.
What about dark chocolate? Or maybe try some stuff that's a little more expensive, like Lindt or Godiva. Perhaps the quality of the chocolate matters, and maybe the more expensive chocolates are higher quality and, perhaps, purer, with fewer allergy-causing ingredients.

But always carry an EpiPen, just in case.

Good luck with your allergist appointment. It would suck if you were allergic to chocolate.

*hugs* I hope it is only a specific combination of chocolate (say 70 percent not all chocolate) so you can eat like 65 or 80 percent chocolate.

The skin test showed positive after less than 10 minutes for cocoa. This means no chocolate ever again. I'm gonna go cry in a corner now.

I also tested positive for potatoes (moderate), oranges (mild), green beens (mild), and latex (mild). That's in addition to my previously known allergens of tomato and eggplant.

I've heard of carob being used as a chocolate substitute - have you tried it?

Not surprised about the potatoes - they're in the same family as tomatoes and eggplant. Peppers are distant cousins - hope you don't start reacting to them.

A lot of allergies tend to get worse with repeated exposure, and I've heard that latex falls into that category. Be careful.

Also, when you go to the eye doctor, and they use the drops to dilate your pupils, let them know about your allergies to members of the nightshade family (tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplant) - the drops are belladona, which is derived from another member of the family.

Also with latex allergies, watch out for bananas. Very often those two go together.

That sucks. I'm glad you found out for sure, though.

...and when latex and bananas go together, they produce an entertaining evening's enjoyment
