  • I tried to save a life, but...

    ...the wait was too long.

That sounds bad, doesn't it? But I made an appointment to donate blood. I figured with an appointment I'd be seen to right away, right? At the most I figured a 15 minute wait before we got down to business.

I didn't anticipate a card set up saying cheerfully, 'the wait to save a life is 90 minutes!' I didn't plan for that, I didn't eat because I thought I could go to a really nice cafe for lunch before I had to get to the chiropractor. Looking around I saw a ton of people waiting and after a few questions to discern that this was indeed the wait, I left. Taking away my A+ blood which is a shame because the radio specifically said they needed it.

I feel a bit bad about it but if they massively overbooked that is not my problem.

Call them back and ask when is a good time to come in with minimal wait.

Good on you for being willing. We need more like you.
