  • Weird "dating site" commercial I saw...

Brought this up to my wife the other day. She was in the kitchen, so she only caught part of it.

Apparently, there's a dating website specifically targeted to single parents. My wife asked, "Is that seriously a dating site for single parents?"

I replied in the affirmative, which caused both of us to shake our heads a bit, considering the number of dating sites that are already out there. But I guess this one is considered "niche" in a way others aren't.

But it got me thinking...how about this?

"Are you an a--hole? Would you like to date other a--holes? Then come to a--holedating.com, and date an a--hole, today! Free trial today, you a--hole!"

    LOL!!

Well, this could explain how my neighbors got together..

I actually (half jokingly) told my wife I thought there should be some sort of "trailer park dating" website, too...

There's a dating site for farmers. I've seen the commercial for the single parent one. I found it rather annoying since it featured a kid about 10 years old trying to hook her dad up with a date. Now that I think about it the farmer dating site was a pretty dumb commercial too. Lady farmer struggling to get the work done and in drops her perfect farmer mate just by using the app. They ride off into the sunset together on a tractor. Stupid.
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

Those "Farmers Only" commercials are somewhat amusing, though.

The other weird one is where the fancy-pants "city girl" is fishing with the guy, and complaining. So the "country girl" snags her with a fishing pole, and pulls her into the water, then waves at "country boy". Then they boat off into the sunset...

But "trailer park" is different than that.

But yeah, the "single dad" one was kinda weird. And you'd think it'd be a single mom being hooked up with a guy, but I guess they're trying to project that there are women out there willing to date single fathers...I dunno...

Such groups have been around a long time. I remember back in the 1970s there was a group called Parents Without Partners where singles with kids would meet each other.

I just Googled them and they're still around. They appear to be more focused on single patents raising kids these days rather than dating.

People with kids tend to have a harder time due to the tendency of non-kidded people to not want to date someone who already has kids. I guess it makes sense.
