Mr. Mathnerd and I have been looking to add to our flock. We want one more, preferably large, parrot. Yesterday I responded to an ad from a woman who has two and she needs to rehome them. She has one scarlet and one blue and gold macaw. She's asking a really low rehoming fee, so it's worth the hour drive to go visit the birds and see if there's a personality match with one of them. A blue and gold macaw is my dream bird. I'm really excited and hoping it works out!

Update:
We are now in the service of a special needs scarlet macaw named Scarlett. She's currently in our spare cage while we get her real cage set up, but she's calm, so that's a good sign. She's been plucking pretty badly for the last nine months, and is missing a wing, and for the last four years (her known history), has had a "no touch" policy. We have a lot of work to do, but I'm very excited.

We're going to give it everything we've got!
I started a new thread that's got quite a few pictures in it, that I can keep ongoing if anybody is interested in her long term progress. Here's the link: http://www.customerssuck.com/board/s...d.php?t=115218
She's done well today. If that's any indication, we just might be able to rehabilitate her completely (well, except the whole flying thing...that's impossible with only one wing.)At the conclusion of an Irish wedding, the priest said "Everybody please hug the person who has made your life worth living. The bartender was nearly crushed to death.
