For the last couple of weeks, I've been driving up to West Virginia on Wednesday and returning home on Thursday. Last week, I drove up through Statesville and Charlotte, and the traffic was atrocious, so this time, I decided to take a different route.

I went up through Hendersonville, Asheville, and wound my way up through Kingsport, TN, where I saw a Perkins restaurant!!! We used to have one here in my city, but it closed a few years ago, and it was my dad's favorite restaurant of all, and I remember him being disappointed that it closed.

So, since I had to get gas anyway, I had to stop at Perkins and get a mammoth muffin, and they were just as good as I remember. I'll have to go that way again just to pass that place again.

Also a side note - I love West Virginia - the weather is cooler, and the people seem to be friendlier, from what I've seen in Princeton.

OH I used to love Perkins! There were only two around here and both closed Darn it.
When you start at zero, everything's progress.

Yeah, the only Perkins here closed, which is tragic, since it would've been only 3 miles from my house now. I'm going back to West Virginia on Monday, so I'll pass right by there again.

Well I drove up to West Virginia again yesterday and returned today. I had gotten up at 2am yesterday and left my house at 3, and stopped again at Perkins in Kingsport at at around 5am. It sure was nice to drive without any traffic! It was surreal in Asheville, though.
