  • Scammers really are not trying anymore, are they?

Got a call from somebody saying they have been monitoring my credit card activity for the past six months.. which is a neat trick as I have no credit cards.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

I get similar stuff in my email for WhatsApp. I don't have a WhatsApp account.

    Same with FaceBook.

I have one CC I never use. Still not entirely sure why I have it. I haven't gotten those calls, though. And if I have, they've hung up before leaving a message.

It may actually be an advantage to the scammer. After all, if someone isn't bright enough or with it enough to notice all of the problems with the note, they are more likely to fall for the scam in the first place. The scammer wastes less time trying to convince the skeptical that way.
This could be be scenario--go for the really gullible marks.
      Here's the thread.

I'm so upset! PayPal keeps telling me they have limited my account

What account, you may ask? The one I had (and haven't used) in over 5 years. Yes, I checked, it was closed 5 years ago.

At least get your *mark* list up-to-date! Lazy scammers!

Statistically speaking, even the laziest, most half-assed scammers will still score enough to make it worth their while.

Mytical - If they call you again, go "WHAAAT?! You're the one who has all of my cards?!? I need them back right now, you f***ing thief!"

What CL said -- This, exactly. Even legitimate snailmails and emails are lucky if they get 2% of the people they try to contact to respond at all, let alone buy something (4% is considered phenomenal). If an email scammer can get 1% of 1% of the recipients to bite, he's made his money back.

Uh, the eh, Town Council just passed a new ordinance, there's now a $5,000 fine for directing a movie while wearing poofy pants

                    I'm not wearing poofy pants...

I'm sorry, uh, I meant to say, $5,000 fine for NOT directing a movie while wearing poofy pants.
