So back in June I finally got the information for my housing for the school year. Since I'm not living in school housing but school affiliated but ultimately independent housing It was going have a more standard lease.
So I'm emailed a 18 page lease with all the legal whats its and talk to fill it out and fax it in, a a process that cost way way more than I was comfortable with but I said to myself 'Hey Once I get it done its done.'
boy did i just lie to myself.
See yesterday I got a packet in the mail. This packet contained another copy of this lease. 'Why looky here! The place made a mistake!' I think to myself 'I already filled this out and cleaned out my bank account faxing it to them! I better call them at let them know of their error.'
Cue calling and me getting told by a little girl who 1 has not had the customer service training necessary to realize when person on the phone is willing and ready to use curse words (I was pissed and while i feel bad about cursing at the girl she hit the veteran csr pet peeves button right hard and right fast and sent me from zero to pissed beyond belief in about 2 minutes) and is demanding a manager that she should either give them contact info and disengage or not try to explain over and over again why person is an idiot and just agree and promise to bring up the concern later with management (yes I know it would have been a platitude but hell it would have been better than being treated like a 5 year old) and 2 seems to be missing the point of my complaint on a level that makes me doubt her intelligence (again I know I am probably the sc in this story but grrrrrr slicey mad).
Why you may ask, why because I call them up and am told that the full 18 page lease I was emailed and I faxed back (again at omg expense which part of the pissed-offness here) wasn't really the lease. No no no see that isn't legal size and doesn't have the original writing. That document, which looks like a lease, has all the same info as the new lease, and is just as legal and enforceable as a lease just holds my housing! of course i have to fill it all out again and mail it in.
And what was my complaint you ask, why it was why the f-ing hell would you email a full lease for me to fill out and fax in if it isn't usable! Why not draft a small 3-4 page letter of intention which would hold the placement for the leaser until a "full legal sized" document can be mailed so that they can secure their housing, you have their guarantee and you don't have to drive people insane.
She then threw the bomb of if i don't sign the new lease I can't get my keys to which I then gave up on her because I already paid this months rent. If they refused to give me the keys when they have a signed lease on file and rent payment I would call a lawyer.
The only reason I'm going to fill out the new lease is because school starts in 2 weeks and I don't have time to find some place else and deal with a court case and school in the span of two weeks.
so yes I am at super pissed level on the annoying threshold and I am really not happy.
