  • Well, today was just crappy.

After getting home and getting ready for supper my mom called out that someone was in our van. Well my dad and I ran out and bolted at him. When he saw us he tried to run. Tried being the operative word. I tackled him and my dad and I had him pinned until the police showed up with the help of some neighbors. During the scuffle the bastard bit me though and hard enough to break skin.

After the paramedics checked me out (took one look and said get to the emergency room as soon as you can) we did just that. 2 hour wait and the end result is some potent anti-biotics for 10 days plus a doctor's appointment to discus the blood work.

    So how was your day?

My day was ok, except I had King of the Roaches come out of my fridge, hiss and tried to bite me even though I had a can of Raid, that he wasn't at all afraid of. Yuck. At least I wasn't bitten tho.
    Can't reason with the unreasonable.

No, just desperate to get loose and thought that biting me would work. It didn't. Then he tried all manner of excuses to try to get me off of him. That didn't happen either. The paramedic telling me to get to the hospital ASAP (there was only a tiny spot of blood ) is merely because he broke the skin.

Glad they did. Human bites can be quite nasty. x.x Glad you guys are (relatively) OK!

A bite from a human mouth will often have a lot more harmful bacteria in it than an animal bite.

If you're in the US, remember to keep any bills, etc from the hospital, the cost of the prescription, receipts, etc. when you get a victim impact statement from the courts, fill it out, include those costs, whatever damage to the van or items inside. You can add in pain and suffering or your time spent in the hospital and dealing with any other repercussions for this. They will add it into his restitution, and you can get reimbursed. Probably sloooooowly, and in small amounts, but it will happen.
