  • Bad things in threes

After a rough day at work, I come home to find nobody home and a message on the answering machine to call my MIL. After a few rounds of phone tag, it turns out that she's been taken to the hospital with chest pains.

While waiting to find out more, I went to Facebook to see about the rest of my family. My uncle who's fighting leukemia has taken a turn for the worse, and my cousin's wife died suddenly last night.

    Just...damn it.

Just came back from visiting MIL. She's coherent and feeling okay, but they're still trying to figure out exactly what happened, so she'll be in the hospital for a day or two.

I had to read your OP several times. At first It seemed like your apartment was robbed. Hope your MIL comes thru.

Sorry, I meant nobody was home. I should edit that.

MIL is home. The doctors ran every test and couldn't figure out what the trouble was. (I suspect it may have been due to the heat.) Hopefully it won't happen again.

Weird. My mom had the doctor consulting all kinds of medical journals once. We still don't know what she had.
