Trixie is just my secret identity. It's just a name that I only use here though without using one of the few I use everywhere else. One name that I use was when I first got a Yahoo email address. I think I was going to use it for junkmail, I read to pick something that can't be connected to you or something. I picked a random nickname for my cat and the date I created it. Of course now I use it pretty much everywhere and I still get mostly junkmail on that Yahoo address.
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

My original username here was something I used to use here-n-there online. It was based on a word from (don't laugh) the Drow language. (It's a D&D thing.) That username dates back to... uh... my late teens, I believe.

When I started posting here in earnest, I asked Raps to change it to my current one. Why Deserted? Well... I live in a desert... In retrospect, I suppose I could've used something from Dune (Sandworm, Fremen) or Star Wars (Jawa, Moisture Farmer) but I guess my creative juices were at low tide when I was picking the name.

The only other possibilities that occurred to me at the time were either my real name, which I use at Wikipedia and Rosetta Code, or one of my no-longer-really-used usernames, none of which I really care about any more. Oh, and I briefly considered being "Happy Cabbie" to contrast with Cranky Cabbie.

Most of the labels I apply to things here are just grossly over-worded descriptions of reality:

      - Desert Hell: Used for both Arizona and the more immediate area around town.
      - Suicidal Self-Resurrecting Burning Bird City: Descriptive of the phoenix, which the city is named after.
      - Big Green Cab Co: The cabs are green and it's the biggest cab co in the state.

I do those entirely for my own amusement. The major exception to that is Corporate; I use this no-nonsense word because my true feelings about them are definitely fratching material. (I have a phrase for them in my head that fits in with the others I use, but it's going to stay in my head.)

A few years ago, back when I was still working 2nd shift in a factory, hubby stayed home at night with the kiddies. He was looking for something to do so he joined a chat room on yahoo. His handle was Lunatic (or something similar). I eventually joined in the chat room as Lunatic's Baby and one of the regulars there just shortened it to Luna Baby. It stuck...

I do have a thing for the moon and stars, though, and since Luna is another name for the moon (any of you remember Bear in the Big Blue House?), I instantly fell in love with it.

I have to use my birth year or some other variation on some sites since apparently Luna Baby is very popular.

Been using this, or variations of it (either a space or underscore in between the words), since ye olde days of 5600 Baud

It's just my real first name and a Japanese rendering of my last initial (in Romaji/English characters). i.e. "Eric K." -- A couple of years after I began using it, I found out that there really WAS someone with the real name Eric Kei; he was a Chinese university student at the time (presumably -- searches on my name for many years were 90% me and 10% Chinese results with .edu or another "college" term in the result somewhere), and apparently went on to become a pro soccer player. I understand he's retired now.

Back in the 90's I was chat buddies with a woman who called herself Lunedamour. (Or to space it out properly for those who don't understand French, that's "lune d'amour" -- "moon of love".)

I lurked for many years. Seriously, lots of years. (I'm not sure if I was reading before the last big forum software meltdown or not.) I absolutely LOVED Gravekeeper's stories, and eagerly looked forward to every post of his.

I considered signing up at one point as "GK Stalker", but then I read that someone in RL actually did track him down--and it freaked him out. YIKES! (It would have freaked me out too!) I didn't want to be associated with that person, even though I would love to meet GK some day and find out if he is as funny in real life as in writing. And I'd like to buy him a drink of choice for all the laughs.

Anyway, I dropped the idea of signing up for a while. Eventually, I decided to join for realz. So I picked the best "Tribute to GK" user name I could think of.

Oh yeah didn't he work for a mail catalog or am I thinking of someone else? He was funny. I mostly enjoy the stories from other hotel workers cuz I can relate I guess. My fav story of all was I forget who wrote it, but it was called I'm a reservationist. That person must've been sent down from heaven cuz I cried and sobbed tears of joy when I read it and I joined right after. Finally someone get its too!!!
About being met with irl I would be freaked too. My fear is my company finding that I've been saying shit about them and their SCs and bringing out the axe. I think they suspect!

I was in need of a good rant the day I joined, hence the name.
Then I erased that rant before I could post it I do that a lot, just typing it angrily at the computer screen seems to be my actual catharsis, I don't even need to post it.

I was a big fan of the 80's Disney animated series Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers back in the day, so I chose "Monterey Jack" based on the Aussie mouse character from the show. I use the same username (or variants) on most of the other boards I frequent.

I couldn't think of anything else

I love cats, I love the moon and moon-related things, and I'm pagan so I just smooshed the two things together. I use different names for almost every site I comment on.
