  • Stood up to my mom

She asked again if she could take daughter out for her birthday. FTR, daughter's birthday was in early July, Mom forgot about it. Also neither of my parents are allowed unsupervised visits with my kids. So I told her no. We're in the middle of moving and our house is going on the market soon.

She also told me she negotiated with Moocher Uncle for the truck for Really Big Craft Show, then asked what other shows we were doing together. I told her 2 weeks ago in person that I wasn't doing any other shows other then Really Big One because of her attitude about helping me. (I will actually be doing them, just alone or with friends and not with her.)

So she threw a tantrum. She's "punishing" me by picking up her stuff that she's stored in my house for the past 5 years.

      So, when's the party?

But seriously, good! I'm glad you did it. But you know as well as I do that she's likely to try to bring up these craft shows again. Do you think it's possible she'd try to sabotage your appearances (i.e. make it where you can't go, damage your equipment, etc.)?

mjr has a point. For shows where you are going, I'd recommend calling them and asking that they put a note on your file, stating that ONLY you are allowed to make any changes/etc to your account, booth, etc., and that if they get a call from <Mom's name> with changes requested, to pretend to take notes, then ignore her completely. That, and make it clear that she is her own separate entity, and that she speaks only for herself. May even need to set up a passphrase or something that she doesn't know about, if her interference is likely.

Now isn't that a crying shame.
I think mjr & Eric have a point about her sabotage.

Good for you! Stand firm on those shows. Nice of her to take her junk out of your house, huh?

Other then Really Big Craft Show which is in Gma's name, all the other shows are in my name only. I paid for them myself, I'll decide who I want to join me in my booth of awesome.

Mom asked for contact info for one of the shows I'm doing. I gave a heads up to the ladies running the show. She won't get in

I almost forgot Is this the daughter that your mother treats as mentally handicapped? Or is it only like dirt?

Both my parents treat my kids like dirt. Daughter has autism and son has ADHD. Lately both parents have been telling me that I "conned" a doctor into giving those diagnosis to my kids because I don't want to be a mom. Both parents are also upset at me for not "beating it out of them."

                      O_O

That's something I'd wanna keep a record of. On paper. Names, dates, times. Ya never know when documentation regarding one's "character" will come in handy.
