    The domino game...

    I know members of my family had played for YEARS. When I was a kid, sometimes my mom (and occasionally my dad) would go to an aunt & uncle's house (who lived across the street from my grandmother), and I'd go with them. The adults would play 42, and we'd play Nintendo...

    I kinda-sorta learned how to play. My wife didn't know at all, so I had to teach her based on what I know of the game. It's almost time for me to teach the kiddo how to play.

    There's also a version of Taroky they used to play, too. For some reason (I guess the way they were taught) they used poker chips and "house rules", because I bought a deck of the cards, and the bidding and rules are nothing like the way I overheard and kinda-sorta learned.

    Can't really help with 42, but this sort of reminds me that we have our own "house rules" for Tripoli that don't match the ones that came with the set. We only play Tripoli very occasionally anymore, when we have four or more players, and we'll play for nickels.
