I've already got my list for right now. finished airplane

airplane overall is pretty good, and has some hilarious jokes but some of the jokes have not aged very well. very much it was a different time. I think I may have seen this at one point, I remember seeing a lot more than I thought I had.

Summer Wars. Wolf Children might not have done it for you, but I think this was Hosoda's next best film.

Oscar. A lesser-known comedy starring Sylvester Stallone, set in prohibition-era USA.

I have so many movies I could recommend, but I'll just pick a few.

            Comedy: The Titfield Thunderbolt.

            SciFi: Forbidden Planet.

            Fantasy: Stardust.

            Mystery: Gorky Park.

Hmmm... "no horror" cuts out around a quarter of the movies I have on my shelf...

Please add "Battle Beyond the Stars" to your listwhen you have the time. It's a lot of fun. It's a science-fiction adventure film produced on a budget by Roger Corman, written by John Sayles, based on "The Seven Samurai", starring John-Boy Walton, George Peppard and Robert Vaughn, the first musical score written by future-Oscar winner James Horner, special effects done by a pre-"Terminator" James Cameron and it has a talking starship with tits.
"Kamala the Ugandan Giant" 1950-2020 • "Bullet" Bob Armstrong 1939-2020 • "Road Warrior Animal" 1960-2020 • "Zeus" Tiny Lister Jr. 1958-2020 • "Hacksaw" Butch Reed 1954-2021 • "New Jack" Jerome Young 1963-2021 • "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff 1949-2021 • "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton 1958-2021 • Daffney 1975-2021

One of my regulars recommended We're the Millers and watch the credits as they are outtakes including one where the rest of the cast messes with Jennifer Aniston.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

                  Airplane,
You were right about it. It's definitely got a certain type of humor. Some of the jokes are non-PC.

Also, might I suggest "Young Frankenstein", or almost anything Mel Brooks. Even "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

Roger Corman liked the spaceships in "Battle Beyond the Stars" so much that he used them again in "Space Raiders", which starred Vince Edwards. He also reused the music.

Just curious - were those jokes Mac, or were they mainframe?

If you have ever done any type of gaming my one recommendation:

                                Dorkness Rising
I'd tell you where to go, but I work there and I don't want to see you everyday.
