  • Nephew didn't get his reading skills from bro ...

Email just received from my brother about my nephew:

Hey bud, what are you reading?

    Oh, just a book…

Yes, I see that, what book?

    Romeo and Juliet…

    Oh, that’s nice… WAIT, WHAT???

Nephew is nine, by the way ...

(It's not the original play; it's an adaptation for youth. Still ... )

Wait a minute - that Shakespeare dude has plagiarized from ANOTHER movie? This time it's West Side Story.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

Yeah, some people just have NO scruples ...

Sis and I were joking "What's next, Tolstoy??"

And brother responds: "Um… Its not the next book/author/playwright that worries me…"

*WHOOSH* Like an airplane, that particular aspect of it went right over my head ...

I should add that brother does read; he just doesn't read any fiction at all. A lot of what he reads (AFAIK) is financial stuff.

Probably a good thing it's an adaptation for youth. Romeo and Juliet has a lot of adult themes.

"I look at the stars. It's a clear night and the Milky Way seems so near. That's where I'll be going soon. "We are all star stuff." I suddenly remember Delenn's line from Joe's script. Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."
