Today is the 101st birthday of Beverly Cleary. I can say that not only did I read and enjoy her books as a child, my child also reads and enjoys them, and now that I am re-reading them as an adult, her books also help me understand how kids think and feel. She has a keen eye for the world of children, even when she wrote the last Ramona book when she was nearly 80.
