  • OK weird question for the Brits:

In two different songs by a British singer, I've heard a reference to "the Captain" which I gather must be either an historical or possibly a pop culture figure - but I have no idea who he/she is or what his/her story is.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

If you're wondering about the songs, they were "Roll On" and "My Voice", both by Thea Gilmore.

No mention of Tennille? Or Admiral Halsey?

    ;-)

      *snerk*

      No mention of those, mjr.

In one song, the line goes "Call out the Captain, bring back Mother Jones..."

I know who Mother Jones was, but who's the Captain?

The one song says "Call the Captain, call the Brothers Grimm..."

Again, I know the Brothers Grimm, but who is this other guy...?
