Talk about timing ...
So I got one credit card debt taken care of, with a 50% reduction (to about $1,000) and did it with a payday loan (yes, I know they can be even more of a problem than the original debt, but here in Canada they're pretty restricted in how grasping they can get. That being said, yes, I do realize their interest rates are MUCH higher than a credit card ... but since I can't get a credit card right now ... that was the best I could do).
So I'm thinking fine, I can deal with the payments.
Then I lose my main job. And that was just three days ago, so there's no increase in my retail hours yet (no guarantee there will be much of an increase anyway).
And now the collection company for the other credit card comes calling. They want $50 a month.
*sigh*
Well, it's incentive to find another job -- retail, office, or whatever -- in a helluva hurry, isn't it?
