I did offer to contact the company that installed it and have them send me a copy of the contract.
Sounds like a plan, as a matter of fact.

Our insurance company sends out updated Certificates of Liability every renewal date to our subs, third parties, customers who request it, State SOSs and the electricals. I will always get phone calls requesting a COL from them, months after they were sent. No one talks to each other nor looks in their files.

That should be no problem. I email contracts to people all the time. It may be 3 years since they signed and they have no idea where it is, either. But we have them on file because we have to hold customers and ourself to the agreement.

What the serious fuck do you expect me to do NOW?

Just got an email from the lawyer handling Mom's estate.

"Hi, we never got the contract for the new water heater; can you let me know when you sent it or when you will send it?"

    Seriously??

The water heater was installed around CHRISTMAS. And she's just NOW noticing she hasn't got the contract?!

IF it was still in the house, it's likely long gone into the trash.

IF, as I seem to remember, I sent it when they initially asked for it (because I am a gold-medal winner at losing important papers if I don't send them to their destination IMMEDIATELY), then I have no farking clue where it might be, nor what she expects me to do about it.

I did offer to contact the company that installed it and have them send me a copy of the contract.
