I just re-read "1824: The Arkansas War - Eric Flint (2006)" and the parallels of present day poisonalities and movements to Henry Clay and the Georgia Militiamen were astounding.

I just finished "Somewhere Beyond the Sea" by T J Klune, a sequel to "The House in the Cerulean Sea."

I 'm still reading the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" series by Matt Dinniman. I finished books 4, 5 and 6, and am reading book 7: "This Inevitable Ruin." Book 8 is estimated to be available in June 2026.

I have been re-reading The Murderbot Diaries. Already back through 1-4, and then 6, and have just started on 5. (The numbers refer to the publication order, but the story in #6 takes place between #4 and #5.)
"Murderbot is my Sanctuary Moon."

Haven't tucked into them yet, but I recently picked up Journey to the West (the Chinese mythology one); and in vast contrast, High Kahl's Oath (the WH40K Space Dwarf novel).

I am reading 1984, because apparently the dystopian non-fiction we are living in isn't terrifying enough.

Finished "The Cross and the Ensign", the book about Malta. Now I'm onto "Mal Goes to War". It's an SF tale about an AI that winds up involved in a war between the Feds and the Humanists. The Humanists are anti-augmentation and anti-AI, but all is not as it seems... I'm about 2/3 of the way through it.
In many ways, it seems to be a not-quite-as-good rendition of Martha Wells' "Murderbot" books. Though those are favorites of mine, so I'm a weeeeeeee bit prejudiced on that front.
