I don't have to work today, but I'm highly annoyed that it's 2:20 am on a Monday and it's one. firework. every. two. minutes. And this is after complete silence for two hours. Why are you starting up after 2:00 am?? Did the bars close?
But hours ago it was a dude parked in the middle of the street with engine off. I understand that most people are going to park at the lake and stay until the fireworks stop. But it's possible someone might need to get out for any number of reasons such as medical issue, getting called away to a family emergency, etc. We have a one way street that runs between houses and the lake, with the lake on your right. It runs into a small park that's on a tiny peninsula. You veer left and go a few yards where you can only turn left and that's a one-way street out of there. At that point houses are on either side of you. People were parallel parked on the right and left to see the fireworks but you could get down the middle of the street. Dude in front of me was dead stopped with a space on the curb right next to him. There was enough room for his car by far but he was smack dab in the middle so that I couldn't get around him because of car on either side. I got out of my car to go to his window but I stopped myself because I was angry someone would do this. I got in my car again with my brother now behind me (I had decided to leave and he was looking for a better spot). Another car drove up behind him. So Mr. Park it in the Middle of the Street and Try to Film Through Trees was holding up a line and still didn't turn his engine on. He finally did when I put my brights on him.
I got out and decided to go get gas and never made it because of all the traffic. It took me an hour to get home and I live literally 3 minutes from the lake.
Next year I'm staying home.
