    Why so much purple on "The Office" (U.S. version)?

    I noticed this recently. In many of the episodes one or more of the characters will be wearing purple, or there will be purple on-set somehow (a prop or whatever).

    Has anyone ever said why?

    Nothing wrong with it, I'm just curious if there's ever been an explanation.

        I guess it could just be a design choice for no particular reason...?

        Though the color purple is often associated with royalty in the West -- which would make it an odd choice for a US production (of a UK show, IIRC), I suppose.
