OpenSea especially are [insert very rude words here.] They've adjusted their contact forms for people trying to have illegally minted art taken down and now require artists who've had their work stolen to basically dox themselves to the person who stole it. The whole system's a con, the only money anyone makes out of it comes from other suckers putting it in - it's a pyramid scheme with a side in burning down the environment; that's what your sales fee is, it's literally gas money to run the generators to create the blockchain data.

If you want to sell your art, sell your art. All an NFT is, is a fragment of the Blockchain that points to a URL that points to a server that hosts a file that says someone owns another file. While the blockchain itself is immutable, everything after that is completely fragile and can/has already in some cases collapse and render the entire thing valueless.

In simple terms: Bitcoin are digital Beanie Babies.

My advice: Avoid cryptocurrencies like the plague.

    Stick to Etsy.

    Advice about blockchain?

I created an account on OpenSea with a view to selling some of my artwork. I posted something, then went through the process of putting it up for sale.

It appears that in order to post a sale/auction, you have to buy cryptocurrency. And it costs more than $400 to post the sale.

I know next to nothing about the ins and outs of cryptocurrency, selling in blockchain, and the like. Can someone explain it to me? I mean, $400 just to post a sale!
