    Redskins
    Redhawks
    Redtails
    Redshirts
    Commanders

Prior to them settling on the new name, I was calling them "Washington Team Football," which always got Mom to try to correct me. I would just explain, "No, I prefer Washington Team Football because the abbreviation is funnier."
Somebody I work with said they heard from someone that the team should have just kept their old name, and just changed the "logo" to a potato.

When the (now defunct) Alliance of American Football was around, my wife and I would call it "Football AF" as a joke.

....it's hard to think of a team 500 miles away as your 'home team.'
Heh, my current residence is about 2500 miles away from the nearest big-league professional sports team. Hard to get much further away and still be in the United States.

Of course, I grew up in Da Bears territory. Watching Bobby Douglas, the QB, consistently run for more yards than the running backs, and somehow contrive to lose his helmet every other game...

And the former WFT is now the "Commanders".

There is a pro football team across the river from me. I hope they stay there. And they get a new name this coming week. Maybe.

    In the meantime:
    • First Base: Who
    • Second Base: What
    • Third Base: I Don't Know
    • Left field: Why
    • Center field: Because
    • Pitcher: Tomorrow
    • Catcher: Today
    • Shortstop: I Don't Give a Darn
    • Right field: Not named
For those who came in late: Who's on first.
That means that the right fielder is "Nobody". As in, "Nobody's in right".

And the former WFT is now the "Commanders".

Although for the longest time at my house we called them the Washington Washingtons. Because we thought it was funny.
I'm usually an NFC guy. I'll probably be passively rooting for the Rams in the "Big Game"...

I'm gonna probably make some sliders that day, too. Found a recipe I wanna try.

The Bengals have made it to the Super Bowl twice. Both times, they lost to the 49ers.
They're also involved in one of the coldest (both in ambient air temperature and Wind Chill) NFL games ever played -- the Freezer Bowl.

Don't worry, Kit, it won't be all that long before they broadcast that collection of (hopefully) cool commercials with breaks in between to show dudes in plastic armor crashing into one another.

Nah. I only really care about Dem Saints FWIW.
    Same here.

I'm in the middle of New Mexico and people just assume that I go for the Broncos or the Cowgirls, too. I can't stand either team.

As long as you're not a fan of a certain team that exists in a burgh in Pennsylvania that's the pitts it's all good.
Growing up outside the WIndy City, I cheer for Da Bears and anybody playing the Packers.

I do have a soft spot for the Bengals and my Homie. Then there is a certain team and their '70s dynasty. I'll refrain from naming them for dendawg's sake.

As neither of those other teams have made it this far...

    Go Bengals!

But yeah, I'll rather see the Bengals win than the Rams. Even more so if it were over the 49ers.
