  • Still here!

Yep, there's a war going on, but it's well east of here. Refugees are pouring across the border, and going all over the European Union. Two women who live here in Prague are trucking back and forth in a van, bringing supplies to the border on one trip, then picking up refugees and bringing them back here on the following trip. I see Ukrainian flags flying everywhere, and rude messages about Putin written in Russian. A Russian bank has had to close its branches. People here have been amazing; quite a few have taken refugees into their homes.

    Strange days have found us.

That's nasty business over there. I hope you can stay safe.

Thanks, everyone. People are doing all kinds of things to help the refugees, from driving them from the border to creating shelters to opening their homes... It's amazing.

Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I've put together a bunch of stuff for the refugees - a suitcase containing some of my old clothes, some kitchen things, Easter candy, and (thanks to friends who sent me $100) new clothes for women and children. I'm wondering if I should start up a PayPal account so that people can donate to someone "on the ground", as it were. The refugees need EVERYTHING. They're getting some money from the Czech government, but it's not enough.
