That show was about events that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Their accents were different from ours.

There are a lot of things wrong with the original three Star Wars films. I never understood why everyone thinks they're some great, deep masterpiece when I've seen greeting cards with more substance to them. Worrying about how an actor pronounces a ship is rather small on that list.

While I agree with Kristev-- there are other things 'wrong' with the OG Trilogy to really be mad about pronunciation-- my approach is similar to Arcus here: the type of bird is pronounced 'FAL-con' but the name of the ship is pronounced 'FOL-con.'

To understand what is so great about the original Star Wars movie you had to be there. It was a refreshing change in what was being shown to movie goers at the time. High adventure along the lines of a shoot-em-up western in space. And it opened up the flood gates to much better sci-fi movies that came after.
