"What song made you laugh your butt off when you thought about it?"

They were talking about country music, but in this case, it doesn't have to be country specifically.

The OP in that thread used the Sawyer Brown song "All These Years" as an example. OP noted that the song is about a man who catches his wife in their bedroom in the act of infidelity, turns off the light, and they have a conversation about it, right there, presumably with the other guy in the room still.

    He thought it was funny.

Another is the song "John Deere Green" by Joe Diffie. The song is basically about a guy who climbs a water tower with some "John Deere Green" paint, and writes "Billy-Bob Loves Charlene" on the water tower. He basically vandalizes the water tower, and never gets in trouble for it. In fact, it's only stated that "the whole town said he should have used red". And to top it off, the words were apparently left there for years, because the town tried painting over it but for whatever reason that didn't work.

Another is Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now!?" (which is a favorite of mine). Think about that song. The dude had a crush on a girl in high school. She basically ignored him.

So 20 years later, he sends her a note and a flower to meet him at the football stadium at midnight.

That sets aside even the logistical problems of them both getting into the stadium. She has no idea who the letter is from, and she's married (we assume, based on the context of the song), and she goes anyway.

All for Toby Keith to show up, and sing a song (complete with full band and dancers) that basically says, "Ha ha! My life turned out great and yours sucks! Look what you could have had!"

How about The Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earl"?

The two women conspire to murder the abusive husband, and get away with it. And they murder him with black-eyed peas. And they talk to him after he's dead.

Someone else brought up "The Pina Colada Song" (If you like Pina Coladas...")

Basically, I forget the whole premise of the song, but a poster pointed out that in the song one member of the couple creates an ad the the other one answers...and they simply laugh about it instead of realizing that they were, essentially, trying to cheat on each other.

    ---------------

Anyway, you get the general idea...

Any others you can think of??

"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" ends with Meat and Ellen 'praying for the end of time' because they've had enough of each other.

And I know it's a joke band and a joke song, but Dethklok's "Lost Vikings" always made me laugh, because it's a story about a band of vikings who get lost on their way to fight in a battle and are too proud to stop and ask for directions... so they're doomed to roam the world forever.

It's also a joke song by a joke band.
