Explain your User Name!

The name Severen comes from a character in the film "Near Dark". I just liked the way it sounded.

13 is my lucky number.



But if you click on my links you'll notice that Severen13 is just one of the many names I use on the internet.

I can't remember* if I've posted my SN background or not, so here it goes!


When I first got onto the forum (many eons ago it seems), I was listening to one of my favorite CDs at the time: Lyve Behind Bars by the Pyrates Royale who happen to be one of my fave acts to catch at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. At the time I was thinking of a user name, the song "I Drink a Rum" came up on the song list, so I just plugged it in. (I love the song and I do love to drink Rum). So that is the long version of how I came up with my User Name.





*I have a bad remebery () - Child Rum took my brains while she was gestating in my uterus and has never given them back to me (plus, I was born blond and though my hair darkened, my brains just never fully grew in or I use the excuse that my grandfather was full-blooded German and therefore, I come from a long line of blonds - no offense to the blonds on the forum, but I do sometimes like to play into the stereotype ).

I'd love to say mine comes from doing some amazing feat that made somebody follow through on a promise to eat their hat, but it came from typing arbitrary two-word combinations into Yahoo and picking the first one that wasn't taken.

And in games (WoW etc) I name my characters things like Edfez, Edcap, Ed the Fed(ora), etc... Ed followed by some kind of hat. Except my death knight, he's Ded[kind of hat].

Well the username I use here is kinda obvious...I'm in telecom so it fits. The username I USUALLY use is lilsheba, or little sheba. That comes from a 38 Special song of the same name.

My wife joined the board first, and christened me The Dane in one of her first posts. Going by anything else would have created unnecessary confusion, and you guys would have all just called me The Dane anyway.

Why did she call me The Dane? Two reasons: I'm from Denmark (duh), and at the time, her English class was reading Hamlet (making it the third or fourth year in a row she had to read that damn play, if I recall her ranting corrrectly) and it was an attempt at being witty.

I suppose I could make an attempt to be witty and ask if something was rotten in the state of Denmark...or if Denmark was a prison.

It was the third time, and I still don't wanna talk about it!

I'm not sure of the reasoning myself. I think it had something to do with the king being referred to as 'The Dane," though your witticisms are good, too.

Anyway, back to the topic:

The Pyrates Royale are easily one of the best things about the MD Renaissance Festival! Every year when I go, I make it a point to go 'round to the pub and watch them sing at least a couple songs.
