They actually film those commercials (most of them) at a Sonic near me.

We're going to have an A&W opening up, probably sometime next month.
      Culver's is better, IMO.

Sonic is building a resturant about 3 miles from me thats supposed to open this spring. I have never been to one, but from what i have read in the local paper, and have heard from friends that have been to one is that they are really great.

I would just like to be the one to point out that this thread title reminds me of the damned smileys with sound ads. You know the ones.

Also, we've got A&Ws all over the place up here. It boggles the mind that someone would actually be excited over one opening up o_O

Yeah, I miss Chick-fil-a. They have a mini one in one of the campus dining places...but they don't have the sweet tea! And that's one of the best parts of Chick-fil-a.

~points to 2 sonics within a 5 minute drive from my house, 4 chik-a-fil the furthest one being 8 minutes away, 3 pals (something you'll NEVER find outside of my area), and central park about 30 minutes away (reminds me of checkers WAY back in the day)~

                    Ok...I'm done now...~runs and hides~

we may not have any sonics (the closest one is about an hour and a half to two hours away) but we do have In-N-Out Burger.

As a former employee of A&W Canada, I can say--with some authority--that A&W Canada is different from A&W America. From what I've heard, A&W Canada is better than A&W America, but I cannot confirm this firsthand.

                            Also, in closing:
                            1) When I think of "Sonic", I think of a certain local radio station.
                            2) Even bad A&W is better than every BK meal I have ever had. Every time I go there, I wonder if they made my Whopper in the kitchen or fished it out of a Dumpster.

I can think of about a dozen Sonics in my town, heck even my hometown that is tiny has had a Sconic for about 25 years. Frankly I don't care much for their general fair but I do like the steak toasters and the onion rings are OK if you don't get the big ones. I really like the cranberry slush.

For our out of country friends: Sconic is a somewhat old-fashioned drive-in burger joint complete with car-hops and some still wear roller-skates. They generally serve standard burger/fries/sodas/ice cream whatevers.
Personally I think A&W is better especially the freshly mixed Root Beer.
