In Australia, depending on your status (basically, if you're working, a student on welfare payments, a parent with school-age kids who is on Family Tax Benefit or something similar) we're getting $900 in a lump sum from the government. Again, the question stands as to whether there'll be a tax hike or not.

I have to agree with pretty much everyone here. $13 is $13. To me that's ordering a pizza on Friday night, although the downside is I doubt I'll see it this year cause the other guy probably won't update the payroll software again this year.
