I remember an episode (US version) where the contestant was a fifth grade teacher. And they had her daughter, who was in fifth grade herself, as the surprise classmate. She wasn't completely dumb, at least, but she still lost, I believe.

I keep thinking I should go on and try my hand...but some of the stuff they end up asking is rather obscure depending on your interests. Like sure I'm a history major and absolutely adore world history, but there was a question one time on something with a Meso-American culture and Lord help me if I knew it without guessing.
I think the funniest epidsode I saw was the one where the newlywed bride was trying her hand. Not the best start to a honeymoon I believe.
