Some of them are extremely obvious, others you don't always think about until minor winter inconveniences have driven you absolutely insane since December.
1) No more dangerous road conditions! Once temperatures finally get to and stay at above freezing every day and night and precipitation only comes in rain form, the biggest worry will be driving in severe thunderstorms and hail. No more having to go 30 mph on the freeway because it's not plowed and there's 4-6 inches on the roads.
2) No more coworkers calling in once or twice every week because it OMG snowed! Even if it only snows a trace to an inch or two, without fail, people will call in because they are scared. Even if they've lived in Wisconsin their whole life and have seen way worse winters and driven on way worse road conditions. Once it's spring, they will have to find a new excuse to call in all the time. Weather won't count anymore unless we are under some kind of watch or warning right at shift change.
3) No more having to layer myself up like the Michelin tire man! I like layering my clothes, but I don't enjoy looking like a linebacker and having to wear so many layers of clothes that undressing becomes a chore and a game of how many shirts am I wearing today?
4) Not having to wear my coat indoors while I wait for the apartment to warm up when I get home!
5) Not having to spend 5-15 minutes scraping ice and snow off of my car every morning after work or every night before work.
6) Not having to leave 10-15 minutes early for work because of bad weather conditions. No longer will it take 45 minutes to an hour to drive 15 miles.
7) No more having to listen to the pipes for an hour after I take a bath or shower when it's really cold.
8) NO MORE COLD SNAPS! Now that it's March, thankfully cold snaps only last 1-3 days, but even better, NO MORE 1-3 week snaps of negative double digit temperatures.
9) All of my doors and windows will always be ready to be opened. No more frozen car doors and windows under an inch of ice!
10) No more having to waste $20+ on every single De-Icer product that's made. I go through several bottles of the stuff for windows and windshields, and several travel sized lock De-Icer bottles, and then the stuff for your windshield washer fluid....
11) I only go through ONE pair of windshield wipers from spring until next early winter. I went through two pairs of windshield wipers this winter.
12) No more mittens or coats! Once it gets to the 50s and up consistently.....I don't have to wear my huge winter coat everywhere I go anymore.
13) No more wasting gas warming up my car 10-15 minutes when it's -30 outside! When it gets to spring and temps are mild, it's turn on the car, let it run for a couple minutes, and off I go!
14) No more winter noises! Finally I won't have to hear cars going up and down the road crushing down the snow, no more loud snowplows, no more hearing footsteps two or three apartments down!
15) No more closed toed shoes on the weekends! No more socks! I can wear my nice heels and sandals and flipflops and show off my adorable feet once the snow and ice go away for good!
16) My skin will no longer resemble the texture of an alligator. From the neck down I have been scaly since November!
17) The sun....omg, what's the sun? I haven't seen the damn thing since last fall!
Any other reasons?
