This whole tale is a huge
, for me anyway, so I figured I would post it for all's amusement.
As I may have mentioned awhile ago, one fateful night the ex fell asleep with his workboots on (how do you not notice you're still wearing your boots?) and his legs crossed. Well, that caused a small clot, which was evident a day or so later. A sane person would probably think "gee, I wonder if being motionless for 12 hours with my heavy boots on would have anything to do with this?" and call a doctor to get it looked at.
Dumbass waits three weeks, ignoring the progressive swelling aching and redness until..."wow, this hasn't gotten any better, maybe I should go in like Dreamstalker told me to two weeks ago." Oh yeah, and he risked alcohol poisoning
Turned out that one leg was one giant clot from ankle to groin, and some tiny ones had broken off and traveled to his lungs
So he was in the hospital for about a week (in the pediatric ward as there was a shortage of regular beds I guess, he made a point of mentioning this to me many times).
When he got out, cue complaining bitterly about hospitals, the doctors (they diagnosed it correctly, you didn't want to believe it), that he was in the children's ward (at least you were there), etc.
So he's on a fairly high dose of warfarin until the summer. Now that he knows I know this, he starts complaining about everything he can't eat/do...if it were me in that situation, I would have found out right away what should be restricted, what's OK in moderation and what should be avoided (and get a medicalert bracelet for the duration so should anything happen people know what's up) and find out ways to live with it. Not this guy. He thinks it's more productive to whine. And make up side effects (warfarin does not cause erections, not that I'm aware of).
