Advice on car stuff wanted

I have been thinking about painting a Pirate flag on the hood of my car (I'm thinking this). Also, my car is white.

I don't know if I want to paint my hood black, and leave parts white for the design, or what to do with it.

I'm thinking about getting an airbrush kit and painting it at home, but I know nothing about auto paint.

Help?

I haven't done my own car, but I'd recommend going to some place like Auto Zone and see if they can recommend a good paint.
