Every Friday night, I get together with a group of old friends: several of them are former roommates, and one of them is my best friend, mother of my god-daughter. We've recently taken up hiking after church on Sundays, both in an attempt to get the god-daughter out and about and use up some of her energy, and in an attempt to do something resembling exercise.
Last week, we went to a large park, and found the perfect spot to fly kites! Us being us, we also decided that we didn't need to BUY kites, we would simply make our own on Friday.
We made a huuuuuge mess all over my friend's living room, with plastic, dowel rods, tape, glue, etc.
But we did get some kites made! My friend Liz made one that looks like a manta ray, Robert made a traditional diamond kite, and I made a huge delta kite that looks like crap but seems like it will fly well. Check it out!
