    SLIGHT TMI WARNING

    *Girly pregnancy things*

To make my day even more emotional, my sister noticed this afternoon that she was leaking fluid. She's 35-ish weeks along. Her due date is May 30th. She called the nurse three hours ago and they said to come in because this is just one more in a long line of problems.

She's one centimeter dialated and just started having contractions so they are keeping her for now in the hospital. Even the nurse said, "well, you might be having a baby tonight!" I wish she didn't say that because it completely freaked out my sister, apparently.

She's been unders SO much stress lately and earlier today she came with me when we put our dog down. I don't know if that's what finally did it.

    AAAARGH, I'm so stressed OUT.

First my dog, and now this!

I hope everything turns out okay, even if my niece makes an early appearance. I just want her to be safe and healthy.

Keep my sister, her bf and the baby in your thoughts! Thank you.

On the bright side, being a month premature (Like me) will only cause one to have a Very warped sense of humour and a moderate sense of Introversion, if you look at me as an example. :P

All the best to your and your sister, and i hope things start perking up in a good way.

My thoughts are with your sister, (and with you for your dog). A positive way to look at it is, she has access to medcial professionals so she is in much safer hands than she could be.

      Good luck!

35 weeks is not that terribly bad. i hope baby and your sisters body calm down and she gets to have the rest of the time in the womb, if not i know she has a loving family that will be glad to see her.
My sanity has been dripping out of me my whole life, today they turned on the faucet.....

          No baby for now!

They kept her overnight and gave her some sort of pill that made everything stop.

But they want her to come in more frequently now to check her fluid or something like that because it's not good that it's leaking.

They think that the kid probably will come early, but not just yet. Her head is down and that sort of thing and she seems pretty ready to come on out. XD

So, this is good. No baby. Noooooot yet. Thank God.

Now we have time to put that crib together and clean baby clothes, at least.

They'll probably keep her on the pill (my mom had it too when I tried to come out at 30 weeks) for at least a week until 36 weeks, possibly even til 37. Technically, at 37 weeks, a baby is considered full term and can be delivered without worry of prematurity. Those last 3 weeks of pregnancy are pretty much the baby gaining weight and nothing else. My son was born at 36 weeks and was only in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks, when they're normally in until their due date.

I've got you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. Your neice should be find hon, and your sister too

Awww. The baby would have been born on my birthday.

Good luck to the baby and your sister!

Friends of mine had theirs 3 weeks early late last year. She planned to get off work two weeks before the due date, but ended up missing even that by a whole other week. Talk about a spanner in the works!

The baby boy, though, is beautiful and healthy, and everything is fine. Hopefully the same will be true for your nephew/niece. But yes, I'd get on with whatever preparations you need ASAP as if it was coming today!

My son was born at 36 weeks 1 day, and was 5 pounds 9 ounces.. They said if he'd have gone full term he would have been 9-ish pounds, because they gain about a pound a week.. I'm actually glad I had a c-section, cause he had a 13cm head!

My cousin's son was 10lbs 1oz. I don't know how tall he is now (he just turned 17) but he's well on his way to catching up to his dad who's 6'4". (My cousin is probably 5'10" herself, and both her daughters are around the same height. The whole family makes me feel short. )

My brother was 8lbs 11ozs. My mom's only about 5'1" and probably not much over 115 lbs. I am the favorite child...I was only 6lbs 9ozs and 19 inches tall.

Oh I am so screwed when I have kids - Other Half is over 6 feet tall, and over 200 lbs easily. And I'm....not so big.

My daughter weighed 10 lbs 8 1/2 oz at birth and was 22 inches long. Of course, she was almost a month late too. Now, at 24 years old, she is almost 6 feet tall. Her father is 6' 7" and I am 5'3" and very small boned. My doctor told me later that people my size are not intended to have children with people my ex-husband's size.
