Anyone here play LOTRO?

I just bought my own copy, and worked my way through the tutorial instance. Fun game thus far. Wondering if anyone has any CS groups on there, or even just a CSer heavy server I should check out.

I played it for a while. Got one character up high enough to go do monster play and never went back. It's tons of fun running around as a mega-level toon. Mainly because I hardly ever have high-level characters on any game I play.

Don't play it any more. I don't remember why I stopped, but WoW dragged me back in and I will not pay for more than one game at a time.

So far I've been enjoying it, and I like the fact that there's more to grouping than just having a tank+a healer+a dps. There's an actual benefit to forming an official group.

I also enjoy that there's statistical benefits you can equip dependent on your character's "virtues" although the way you get them sometimes is a bit laughable. For instance, why does killing crap-tons of spiders make me more honorable? On the other hand, the equivalent to exploration achievements in WoW give you the patience virtue, which I find quite entertaining, and fitting.

I think there's a hidden trait(?) you get if you /burp or is it /fart something like 1k times. I remember guild talking about it when MOM came out.
What class are you playing? I may have some tips.

Right now I'm playing a Captain. It seems to fit the character style I like to play in other roleplaying games, and so far this feels more like an MMORPG than an MMORPG like WoW was.

I'm getting two of my buddies to make trial accounts, and I'm not sure what I'll play when we group up, so...

Me and 2 other former Rum Runners are on Landroval. We fled to LOTRO after WAR fell apart. We haven't really been playing much lately though to be honest. Which kind of sucks since I'm on a 2 month game card atm. ;p

Its a good game, just.....how do I put it. The world is beautiful, the game is good, but there really isn't anything about it you haven't seen in another mmo.

I would be up for that. I'm already up ridiculous hours at the moment, though once classes start I'll have to put an end to that.

I was playing a human, but I'd need to make a new character on their server, so I may pick out a new R/C.

Very true. It's unique, it's interesting...

Just like every other MMO.

Also, it tries harder than most to make you care about it's story, which I like, but at the same time, a single player game is better for that than any MMO will ever be, despite my foolish hopes for Bioware's TOR (Which, let's face it, is fighting a losing battle despite Bioware being the only company who has even a mediocre chance of pulling it off)
