I was expecting a box of carnivorous plants in the mail. I got up at an hour that is, for me, ridiculously early so I'd be home when they came. And I waited, and I waited, and I waited.
They didn't come.
I messaged the sender, he hasn't replied.
Somewhere out in the vast postal system there is a box of delicate, wonderful, rare, and valuable plants that belong to me, slowly dying without water, light, or air. If they don't come tomorrow somebody is going to suffer!
I also, since I am currently on a real gardening kick, bid on and won two banana plants on ebay. They're probably going to end up purely decorative, I live a little too far north to be guaranteed fruit from them, but I have some hope of it, if I don't screw up. I may not get to screw up though because despite winning them two days ago and requesting a combined shipping total from the seller within minutes of the auctions' end, I haven't heard jack squat from them. And while their feedback is very good, what negatives they have talk about them never replying to e-mails and suddenly just canceling orders with no explanation. I want my freaking bananas! Reply already so I can give you money, people! And if you don't have the bananas to ship to me, why are you selling them on ebay?
Augh.
And THEN, just to add to all the fun I'm having, I'd posted to a banana growing hobbyist forum (you wouldn't not believe some of the specialty hobby forums out there, it's crazy!) asking for some advice about container gardening... and when I went to check my post to see who had responded, it was gone! With no explanation! So I spent a while feeling really pissed off at the forum mods who (I thought) had removed my post for no reason, and hadn't even had the decency to PM me and let me know why! Then I finally found it, they'd moved it to the newbie greeting section. Even though I'd bee asking about container gardening, in the container gardening section. It kind of pissed me off. And when I asked if I'd been off-topic, and why had they felt the need to move my post, thinking maybe they hadn't noticed that I'd asked about container gardening, the mod who answered said that he had noticed that it was in the right place, but had felt it would get more answers and attention over in the greetings area, rather than in the discussing gardening area!
What kind of broken forum gets you more answers to a gardening question in the socializing areas than in the flipping gardening areas? Seriously, wtf?!
And to top it all off, just moments ago I got a call from my boyfriend, who's on a long out of town trip. We always phone each other every night when one of us is gone, and usually chat on the internet too, if the traveling one has net access. He phoned to tell me that I won't hear from him much until he gets back because he packed the wrong charger for his laptop, so he only has a couple of hours of battery life, and as if that wasn't annoying enough the phone charger he packed was his usb one, not the car charger or the wall socket charger, so he has no way of recharging his phone and he has to preserve the battery life in case of an actual emergency so he won't be calling me either!
The universe hates me, I swear!
