  • Star Trek!!! =)

I won't put spoilers per say in this one either... just general thoughts.

I did not really want to like this movie ... but I saw it anyway to relieve stress... I almost had tears during the "prologue" section.

And as much as I liked wolverine... this was better. Sorry wolvie.

    Other thoughts...

    1) Thought Kirk looked a little stupid in the trailer... nope. Dude who played him had a big role to fill and he filled it.

    2) Bones. Already knew I'd like him cos .. hell it's Eomer, and I've seen Karl Urban do some other kick ass roles, and the Bones haircut looked very good and very canon on him... But I didn't expect this... I swear he was possessed by DeForest Kelley. Grumpy and sexy.

not sure how much more i can get into it without revealing the plot..

    Oh one last thing....
Bit of film after the credits? NO. Nothing.
Dedication to Gene Roddenberry & Majel Barrett Roddenberry ... that's about it.

in that aspect, Wolverine movie comes out on top.

Cos they could easily turn this into a new series or more movies

If they do well enough (and I agree with a movie of that quality they should be able to) they will make more. Personally, I have to say that every character change they made made it more appealing and more easy to absorb that the convoluted original continuity. Then again, I was born in 1990, and by the time I was old enough to understand what my dad was watching, so much had already been created it was hard for it to not convoluted itself.

I gotta say, though. Well played, Bones, well played. Anyone who sees this will know immediately when the scene I said this during comes up.

It doesn't really matter how good the movie is, so long as it's not the worst movie ever (and I really can't imagine it being worse than Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter) they'll make more. There's a whole generation of die hard Trekkies that has grown up since the last movie was in theaters, and records show that if it has a fan base, it'll do well in theaters no matter how much it pisses in people's childhoods (Damn you, Lucas!).

Not that I expect it to be bad, I'm just saying. I'm going on Saturday with one of my gaming groups, and I am sooo excited!

This is by far the #1 reason I'm going to see the movie this weekend. YAY! Deforest Kelly reincarnate.

We're going to go see it on Monday after D get's off from work (and dinner). Personally, I can't wait to see it.

The thing I'm most curious about (NO, don't spoil it) is if they cover the Kobioshi Maru.... I remember reading the novel and thought the various "solutions" offered by the crew, especially Scotty were brilliant.

ooohhh...did not know that. But then my days are filled with Spongebob Squarepants, Penguins of Madagascar, Chowder, or various Mario games downloaded on the Nintendo Wii's virtual console.
