Yes, it's official...I walk across the stage and grab a blank piece of paper with red ribbon wrapped around it in a ceremonious fashion signifying my earning of my associates degree in chemical dependency counseling.
Weeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me 16 years to earn this degree...well, no not really...I played around in school for a long time before my life circumstances lead me down this journey...but here I am.
I am also almost a licensed professional therapist - specializing in alcohol and drug counseling.
In August, I begin work on my Bachelor's in Psychology. I am really excited. Because I have an ungodly amount of credits from my long tenure at junior college, I am coming into the four year school as an "advanced junior" and will only need four semesters to obtain my bachelors.
I really think I'll cry tomorrow when I walk across that stage. Considering where I've come from...this is almost unbelievable. Just think, just a little over four years ago, I was homeless, unemployed, disowned and strung out with a very bleak future ahead of me.
